Aviad Goz, the international trainer who has coached the world's most important companies, visided Romania during October 11-13, when he participated in the eight edition of the Business Edu Forum - "Unleashing performance through learning". During the event, Aviad Goz focused on the concept that has made him famous around the world: N.E.W.S, the "navigation system" that helps companies and individuals set goals and achieve success.
Aviad Goz has been an international trainer since 1986. He has conducted training sessions in over 1.500 companies in 50 different countries. Amongst his clients are many “Fortune 100” companies such as: Microsoft, Intel, Cisco, IBM. GE, HP, Pfizer, City Bank, P and G, Coca Cola, Schering Plough, MSD, Johnson and Johnson, Sanofi Aventis, Eli Lily and many more. Moreover, he created N.E.W.S, a smart organizational instrument that sets the Company’s North (mission and vision), East (motivation and values), South (obstacles and threats) and West (plans of action). Aviad Goz is also the founder and Chairman of Momentum Group and the founder and CVO of “N.E.W.S Coaching and Training”.

Why has the famous Aviad Goz come to Romania, why now?
In the past five years, we have extended to four or five new markets each year. During this period, the main challenge for us has been to find the right local company to work with. We target different regions on the globe and then we profile for the right partners, who are not so easy to find! So yes, we have also targeted Eastern Europe and we have found a great team in Romania and in Poland.

What has this time of continuous financial crisis brought to the training industry? Has is been a good period or a bad one?
I can tell you that the big crisis occurring in 2008 has cut this industry by 40%... in countries where this area is measured. However, companies have not necessarily stopped training. Successful companies still train. On the other hand, companies with financial difficulties train much less, but they choose more wisely, they prefer premium products. During this difficult time, people search for things that look more certain. They don’t have much to invest and when they do so, they want to make a solid investment. That’s what also happens with training and coaching.

What’s the market value of the training and coaching field in Romania? Is it as developed as in other European countries?
If you are asking how much money is in the training business in Romania, I don’t think you have an easy answer. You don’t know how many organizations or how many freelancers are doing training and you don’t even know which type of training you should take into account when analyzing the market. Globally, except maybe UK, USA and Australia, which are very developed, we don’t really know the budgets. It’s not like in consumer goods, where you have the market share.
